Dual Degree Program

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has a Dual Degree Program with leading global universities. Students enrolled in this program will be granted a master's degree, not only from KAIST, but also from the corresponding universities. The following schools and majors can apply to this program, and those who desire to enroll in the program should contact the person in charge at the department office. 2. Eligible Candidates:
Students who will be enrolled in the corresponding semester of the corresponding year or those enrolled in the preceding semester
(e.g., as of February of 2019, students enrolled in the fall semester of 2018 and students who will be enrolled in the spring semester of 2019)
3. Selection Criteria:
Selected by the corresponding departments based on academic performance and English proficiency scores
4. Application Deadline:
Approximately 2 weeks before the beginning of each semester (adjusted to the academic calendar)
5. Descriptions
A. The master's degree program is composed of 4 to 5 semesters. Students generally study at KAIST during their first and fourth semesters and study in the partner institution during their second and third semesters.
B. Language
  • Germany and English: TUB, KIT
  • English: DTU, KTH, ITB, Tokyo Tech, PoliMi
  • French and English: CS
C. Thesis
  • Drafted and submitted to one of the schools: TUB, PoliMi
  • Drafted and submitted to both schools: KIT, DTU, KTH, ITB, Tokyo Tech, CS

※ Training expenses estimated on a 12-month basis [airfare (actual expense) and local living expenses] are partially covered by the BK21 funds, and the successful applicants will be individually informed of the detailed information about the amounts.
However, the extent of support may vary depending on the availability of the BK21 funds.
