Professor Kong Kyung-chul has won the Prime Minister's Award for his distinguished service to host the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics

Professor Kong Kyung-chul applied robotics technology to the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympics, providing an opportunity to change the perspective of disabled people who were considered objects of sympathy and consideration. Lee Yong-ro(57, Doctor of Physical Education) is completely paralyzed from the waist down due to a car accident, and after 27 years, he carried the torch wearing WalkOn Suit, a wearable robot developed by Professor Kong's research team. Lee initiated the torch relay as the first runner with Professor Kong, the developer of the WalkON Suit. Professor Kong received the Prime Minister's Award on September 27 in recognition of his contribution.
