Admission to undergraduate program is to be done without commitment to any department. So, Mechanical Engineering Department is not involved in the admission process. The students are eligible to select their major after finishing their first year successfully. Even if you committed yourself to a department, you may change it anytime if you wish.

We admit graduate students twice a year. Each applicant's document is reviewed by the department's admission committee. However, there is no written or oral test for foreign students. The adviser of each applicant shall be decided at the beginning of his or her first semester after admission considering the student's wish. Thus, the candidates do not need to contact professors before admission.
